Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - By Ibrahim Musa Giginyu, Kano

A political group under the auspices of North West PDP Youth, said over the weekend that the defection of former Kano State governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau to the Peoples democratic Party (PDP) will ensure the party wins back its glory.

Chairman of the group in a chat with newsmen in Kano said “Before Shekaru’s arrival, PDP in Kano seemed to be in a dilemma, but when he finally joined, the party witnessed such a speedy recovery and it became obvious that the future for PDP in Kano state is bright.”

He commended the party’s former caretaker committee chairman, Alhaji Hassan Kafayos, for the role he played in persuading Shekarau and Mohammed Abacha to join PDP in Kano state.

“A good politician always looks for what will enhance his party’s popularity arity among others. Kafayos has seen those hose qualities in Shekarau and Abacha acha and succeeded in convincing the two political giants in the state, and here we are celebrating and hoping with full confidence that in 2015 PDP will regain gain Kano,” said the chairman.
