Police beef up security in Kogi
The Kogi State Police Command has beefed up security in Lokoja and other parts of the state.
Our correspondent who went round Lokoja metropolis observed security presence at strategic locations.
Daily Trust further observed that the police mounted a stop and search point along Ayingba road, where vehicles moving through the state to the northern part of the country from the South-east region are thoroughly searched.
Also, presence of security personnel was heavy on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway with military check points at strategic locations.
A police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said the stop and search was necessary in view of security challenges confronting the nation and also to ensure a hitch free Easter celebration.
Residents who spoke on the development commended police for the security measure, saying it would help to checkmate armed robbery and other security challenges.
