NSCDC nabs car snatch­ers

The Nigeria Se­cu­rity and Civil De­fence Corps (NSCDC) has burst a syn­di­cate spe­cialised in car­jack­ing in Adamawa and Taraba states.

In a state­ment, spokesman for the Adamawa State Com­mand of the NSCDC, Su­laiman Baba, said two sus­pects have been ar­rested. The sus­pects have pro­vided use­ful in­for­ma­tion about their syn­di­cate op­er­a­tions to the com­mand af­ter stolen cars were re­cov­ered from them, he added.

“The corps in col­lab­o­ra­tion with its Taraba State com­mand of the said or­gan­i­sa­tion suc­ceeded in ar­rest­ing Muham­mad Gad­das, a 23-year-old who is the prime sus­pect on 4th April, 2014 and Atiku Ya’u, a 24-year-old in pos­ses­sion of Honda Ac­cord with reg­is­tra­tion num­ber JMT 657AE and chas­sis num­ber 117035 at Jalingo in Taraba State,” Baba said.

The state­ment said in­ves­ti­ga­tion is go­ing on and sus­pects would soon be ar­raigned in court.
