Chelsea want Atletico Madrid to take Torres in Diego Costa deal

Chelsea are hoping to include Fernando Torres in their bid for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

The Daily Express said Diego Costa is Blues boss Jose Mourinho’s top target to spearhead a strike force that will include Romelu Lukaku when the Belgian returns from his loan spell at Everton.

As a result, Chelsea’s opening offer is likely to be £30m plus Torres, who moved to England from Atletico seven years ago and remains a big hero there.

Torres, whose confidence has dipped dramatically at Chelsea this season, would love to go ‘home’ to resurrect his career at both club and international level.
