Jonathan meets governors over insecurity
President Goodluck Jonathan is to hold a meeting today with state governors over the security situation in the country.
The meeting is to be held at the State House in Abuja.
It is coming in the wake of the bomb blast at Nyanya, Abuja, in which at least 75 people were killed, as well as the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State, last week.
The meeting was to have held last week, but there was controversy over the absence of governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
APC said its governors were given the impression that the meeting was postponed. But the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) claimed that the opposition governors shunned the meeting.
