Committee summons NIMASA, Customs, others
The Committee on National Security yesterday decided to summon some security and para-military agencies to appear before it for refusing to submit memoranda.
The heads of the three sub-committees on security Wednesday deliberated on the memoranda received from the public and other working papers.
But due to the lack of any presentation from certain government agencies couldn’t continue its work and therefore requested the conference secretariat to invite the agencies to either attend their meetings or submit memos to enable the committee carry out their work effectively.
The agencies to be invited are: The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
