Police recover head of 2-year-old boy in Ogun
The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the head of a twoyear-old boy that was beheaded recently in Ofada, Mowe area in Owode Local Government of the state.
The boy was said to have been beheaded at Ofada area of Owode Egba on April 12, by one Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim, who was said to have fled the scene after he committed the act.
Daily Trust gathered that the suspect was later arrested at Mowe on April 16 by police detectives attached to the Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta, with the help of community members.
The state police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the suspect took the investigation team to Mokola area of Ibadan, Oyo State, where the head was recovered.
“He confessed to the crime but still held back some information including the name of the person who sent him to get the head,” the police spokesman said.
He added that the state commissioner of police, Ikemefuna Okoye, has ordered detectives to intensify efforts to uncover all those behind such acts in the state.
In a related development, police operatives attached to Adatan Division of the command, led by the Divisional Police Officer, arrested four suspects in connection with the killing of a mentally ill man known as Kazeem Akindele. The suspects include; Fausat Ogunbiyi, Mariam yahaya, Blessing Joseph and Nurudeen Adebayo.
