Po­lice re­cover head of 2-year-old boy in Ogun

The Ogun State Po­lice Com­mand has re­cov­ered the head of a twoyear-old boy that was be­headed re­cently in Ofada, Mowe area in Owode Lo­cal Govern­ment of the state.

The boy was said to have been be­headed at Ofada area of Owode Egba on April 12, by one Mamodu Bashir Ibrahim, who was said to have fled the scene af­ter he com­mit­ted the act.

Daily Trust gath­ered that the sus­pect was later ar­rested at Mowe on April 16 by po­lice de­tec­tives at­tached to the Depart­ment of Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion, Elew­eran, Abeokuta, with the help of com­mu­nity mem­bers.

The state po­lice spokesper­son, Muyiwa Ade­jobi, said the sus­pect took the in­ves­ti­ga­tion team to Mokola area of Ibadan, Oyo State, where the head was re­cov­ered.

“He con­fessed to the crime but still held back some in­for­ma­tion in­clud­ing the name of the per­son who sent him to get the head,” the po­lice spokesman said.

He added that the state com­mis­sioner of po­lice, Ike­me­funa Okoye, has or­dered de­tec­tives to in­ten­sify ef­forts to un­cover all those be­hind such acts in the state.

In a re­lated de­vel­op­ment, po­lice op­er­a­tives at­tached to Adatan Di­vi­sion of the com­mand, led by the Di­vi­sional Po­lice Of­fi­cer, ar­rested four sus­pects in con­nec­tion with the killing of a men­tally ill man known as Kazeem Akindele. The sus­pects in­clude; Fausat Ogun­biyi, Mariam ya­haya, Bless­ing Joseph and Nu­rudeen Ade­bayo.
