Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Hope Abah, Makurdi

Chairman of Tiv Elders Forum in Benue State, Chief Abu Shuluwa, said yesterday that the Nigeria military cannot effectively tackle insurgents, “because they have compromised their position”.

Speaking with Daily Trust in Makurdi, Shuluwa said “the Nigerian military and police have outlived their usefulness such that they can do only little if at all to face the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

After the world war and the Nigerian civil war, they have not fought any other. So, their equipment are obsolete”.

Shuluwa, who flayed the military for its inability to trace over 200 school girls abducted in Borno State more than a week after the incident, said the agony of parents whose children were involved in the incident can only be imagined.
