The Ogun State Congress Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured that justice would be done to petitions received over the last ward and local government congresses in the state.

Chairman of the appeal committee, Alhaji Ikra Bilbis, told newsmen that the committee received five petitions and would submit its report to the party’s headquarters before Saturday’s (tomorrow) state congress.

The committee arrived Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Tuesday, to hear and consider petitions arising from the wards and local government congresses, which has caused crisis in the APC in the state.

At the sitting of the committee on Wednesday, the proceedings were stepped down following misunderstanding among the party members with claims and counter claims by the Chief Olusegun Osoba and Sen. Ibikunle Amosun supporters as to who instigated the controversy.

Both groups however described the development as a misunderstanding which will be resolved using the internal mechanism of the party.

The committee later reconvened to consider the petitions and at the resumed hearing, the party’s state congress chairman, Ope salami, who presided over the congresses told the appeal committee that the results of the state congress were valid.
