Gaya de­clares in­ter­est in Kano gu­ber seat

Se­na­tor rep­re­sent­ing Kano South Se­na­to­rial district , Al­haji Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, yes­ter­day de­clared his in­ten­tion to con­test for the gov­er­nor­ship ticket of the All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC).

The dec­la­ra­tion was made dur­ing the com­mis­sion­ing of a multi mil­lion naira ICT cen­ter he built for the Nigeria Union of Jour­nal­ists (NUJ) Kano chap­ter.

The se­na­tor said he is op­ti­mistic of the ad­mi­ra­tion; sup­port and con­cern of the me­dia which he said are some of the things that have been en­cour­ag­ing him to re­turn to the Govern­ment House in 2015.

He said he oc­ca­sion of com­mis­sion­ing the ICT cen­ter is the right time for mak­ing the dec­la­ra­tion pub­lic.

Gaya noted that; he will not for­get the sup­port given to him by the me­dia in 1991 and listed some of the projects he has ex­e­cuted to bet­ter the lives of the people in the 44 lo­cal gov­ern­ments ar­eas of the state to in­clude; con­struc­tion of 23 health cen­ters, 5000 ir­ri­ga­tions walls, 5000 tube wells, 10 so­lar power bore­holes at each LG, skills ac­qui­si­tion cen­ters and Poverty Al­le­vi­a­tion Pro­grammes.

He said con­test­ing the gu­ber­na­to­rial seat, is not a do or die af­fair and pledged to ex­tend hands of friend­ship to ev­ery­body.
