Power generation improves to 4,105mw, says FG
The nation’s electricity situation has witnessed an improvement with the power generation standing at over 4,000 megawatts (mw), this week.
A press release issued by the Special Assistant to the Minister of Power, Media, Kande Daniel, saidgridinformationreleasedyesterdayrevealed that the country’s generation capacity has picked up, getting to 4105.90mw as at Tuesday. The statement gave a breakdown of how generated capacity was shared, with the industrial nervecentre Lagos and environs getting the highest, a maximum load totaling 985.0mw, while the maximum load allocated to Abuja, through Katampe and Gwagwalada power line, was 410.80mw.
Meanwhile, the nation’s generation capacity as at yesterday stood at 3,795.30mw, and figures for the past few days indicated an averaging of about 3,800mw, The power ministry said the latest grid information has dismissed insinuations in some sections of the media that powergenerationdroppedtolessthan2,000mw.
