Power gen­er­a­tion im­proves to 4,105mw, says FG

The na­tion’s elec­tric­ity sit­u­a­tion has wit­nessed an im­prove­ment with the power gen­er­a­tion stand­ing at over 4,000 megawatts (mw), this week.

A press re­lease is­sued by the Spe­cial As­sis­tant to the Min­is­ter of Power, Me­dia, Kande Daniel, said­grid­in­for­ma­tion­re­leasedyes­ter­dayre­vealed that the coun­try’s gen­er­a­tion ca­pac­ity has picked up, get­ting to 4105.90mw as at Tues­day. The state­ment gave a break­down of how gen­er­ated ca­pac­ity was shared, with the in­dus­trial nerve­cen­tre La­gos and en­vi­rons get­ting the high­est, a max­i­mum load to­tal­ing 985.0mw, while the max­i­mum load al­lo­cated to Abuja, through Katampe and Gwag­wal­ada power line, was 410.80mw.

Mean­while, the na­tion’s gen­er­a­tion ca­pac­ity as at yes­ter­day stood at 3,795.30mw, and fig­ures for the past few days in­di­cated an av­er­ag­ing of about 3,800mw, The power min­istry said the lat­est grid in­for­ma­tion has dis­missed in­sin­u­a­tions in some sec­tions of the me­dia that pow­er­gen­er­a­tiondropped­to­lessthan2,000mw.
