As parts of efforts to support the role of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in disaster management, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated a mobile intensive care ambulance to the corps for its operations in the Federal Capital Territory.

A statement signed by the spokesperson of the agency, Manzo Ezekiel, said NEMA’s Director-General, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sidi, said the gesture was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the NSCDC in the provision of emergency medical assistance during disaster.

The DG, who was represented by the Director of Search and Rescue, Air Commodore Charles Otegbade, said: “NEMA is giving this ambulance to the NSCDC in fulfillment of our earlier commitment to support your responses in the FCT.”

Receiving the ambulance, the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr Ade Abulorin, said the gesture has evidenced the exemplary leadership roles of NEMA in coordination of disaster management in the country.

Dr Abulorin, who was represented by the Deputy Commandant General Suleiman Bello, assured the use of the ambulance for the desired purpose, adding that the NSCDC would continue to cherish the existing working relationship between the two organizations.
