Adamawa Govt House security personnel reduced

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Kabiru R. Anwar, Yola

A significant reduction has been effected in the number of policemen attached to the Adamawa State Government House, our correspondent gathered yesterday.

A reliable source told Daily Trust yesterday that no reason was given by the police for the action, adding that there are fears among the Nyako’s officials that the slash may be a prelude to total withdrawal of security around the governor.

“Yes, the policemen stationed at the Government House have been reduced and there is no official communication from the police, this created fears that something worse may happen”, the source said, but noted that the governor is not scared.

Attempts to get reactions from the Director of Press and Public Affairs were not successful as he could not be reached but the state police command spokesman, DSP Usman Abubakar, said he was not aware of the development and would find out the true situation.
