Jonathan to re­ceive Nasarawa dep gov, Ewuga May 10

The People’s Demo­cratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has set May 10 for Pres­i­dent Good­luck Jonathan’s visit to the state to re­ceive new mem­bers into the party at a rally in Lafia.

State spokesman of the party, Mark Yo­hanna Neto, told Daily Trust yes­ter­day that the date has been com­mu­ni­cated to them from the na­tional of­fice of the party.

He said the visit was ar­ranged for the pres­i­dent to re­ceive those who de­camped to the party, in­clud­ing Gover­nor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura’s deputy, Dameshi Ba­rau Luka, who de­fected to the PDP on March 4, as well as federal law­mak­ers – Se­na­tor Solomon Ewuga (PDP, Nasarawa-North), Rep Joseph Haruna Kigbu (PDP, Lafia/Obi), Rep David Om­bugadu (PDP, Ak­wanga/Nasarawa- Eg­gon/Wamba), and Rep Ishaq Kana (PDP, Keffi/ Kokona/Karu) among oth­ers who de­fected from the All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC) re­cently.

The PDP spokesman said all ar­range­ments have been made by the state wing of the party to re­ceive the pres­i­dent on that day.
