DPR seals 5 fuel stations in Kwara
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Kwara State yesterday sealed five fuel stations over diversion of petroleum products, over pricing, illegal operations and adulteration.
The Controller of DPR in Kwara, Mr Amos Jokodola, ordered the closure of the stations during an unscheduled visit. All the affected stations located in llorin and Offa are owned by independent marketers.
The outlets include; Bollyma Petrol station on llorin-Jebba road which was sealed for suspected diversion of 22,000 litres of petrol, Olutola petrol station on Ajase-Ipo road, llorin, shut over suspected diversion of 33, 000 litres of petrol, and AB Lawal Petroleum Station on Erin-Iie-Offa road sanctioned for selling at N120 per litre.
Others are; Kareinat Petrol located on Ira-Offa road for operating without DPR licence and Rafmore Petroleum on ErinIIe-Offa road, which was shut over suspected product adulteration
Jokodola said the stations would remain shut until they comply with standards and desist from cheating innocent members of the public.
Jokodola also directed Tade Petrol station on Erin-IIe-Offa road and Okin Oloja Petrol station on old Jebba road to adjust their pump price to N97 per litre. (NAN)
