DPR seals 5 fuel sta­tions in Kwara

The Depart­ment of Petroleum Re­sources (DPR) in Kwara State yes­ter­day sealed five fuel sta­tions over di­ver­sion of petroleum prod­ucts, over pric­ing, il­le­gal op­er­a­tions and adul­ter­ation.

The Con­troller of DPR in Kwara, Mr Amos Jokodola, or­dered the clo­sure of the sta­tions dur­ing an un­sched­uled visit. All the af­fected sta­tions lo­cated in llorin and Offa are owned by in­de­pen­dent mar­keters.

The out­lets in­clude; Bol­lyma Petrol sta­tion on llorin-Jebba road which was sealed for sus­pected di­ver­sion of 22,000 litres of petrol, Olu­tola petrol sta­tion on Ajase-Ipo road, llorin, shut over sus­pected di­ver­sion of 33, 000 litres of petrol, and AB Lawal Petroleum Sta­tion on Erin-Iie-Offa road sanc­tioned for sell­ing at N120 per litre.

Oth­ers are; Kareinat Petrol lo­cated on Ira-Offa road for op­er­at­ing with­out DPR li­cence and Raf­more Petroleum on ErinIIe-Offa road, which was shut over sus­pected prod­uct adul­ter­ation

Jokodola said the sta­tions would re­main shut un­til they com­ply with stan­dards and de­sist from cheat­ing in­no­cent mem­bers of the pub­lic.

Jokodola also di­rected Tade Petrol sta­tion on Erin-IIe-Offa road and Okin Oloja Petrol sta­tion on old Jebba road to ad­just their pump price to N97 per litre. (NAN)
