Anam­bra APC gets new exco

The All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC), Anam­bra State chap­ter, has elected Emeka Ibe, as the chair­man of the party.

Ibe was re­turned at the state congress of the party on Sa­tru­day.

Oth­ers who were elected at the congress in­cluded Chuk­wuma Agufugo, sec­re­tary, Mrs Onyinye Okongwu, trea­surer, Okelo Madukaife, pub­lic­ity sec­re­tary, En­gi­neer Emeka Nn­odu, fi­nan­cial sec­re­tary, Emma Chikelu, le­gal ad­viser, Mr. Obidike, au­di­tor, and Mrs Cal­ista Nwachukwu, women leader.

About 35 seats were con­tested for in the elec­tion with 2,007 del­e­gates par­tic­i­pat­ing.

Chair­man of the congress com­mit­tee, Og­buehi Ezenna, while an­nounc­ing the win­ners, dis­closed that the work of the com­mit­tee was made eas­ier through a har­mon­i­sa­tion ex­er­cise that took place at the Ek­wueme Square in Awka.

Speak­ing af­ter his elec­tion, the new state chair­man pledged to carry ev­ery­body along, say­ing he would work to en­sure that APC be­comes the party to beat in the state.

Also speak­ing, the leader of the party in the state and se­na­tor rep­re­sent­ing Anam­bra Cen­tral se­na­to­rial district, Se­na­tor Chris Ngige, said the peace­ful na­ture of the congress was an in­di­ca­tion of the pro­gres­sive na­ture of the party.
