We’re marginalised in Southern Borno - Bassi

Daily Trust - - VIEWS -

We hear all the time that the North speaks with one voice in politics and that the Middle Belt is a tool for that cause. Allegedly, Ahmadu Bello had called the Middle Belt a tool for domination of Nigeria. Another thing is that we erroneously believe that the North has benefited the most from the way the government has been run. The average person in Nigeria, from the South-east to the North-west, has not seen many fruits from the current system, and the elite running this system have always been multi-ethnic. The day we realize this rather than fighting each other and adopting a gang-like mentality with ethnicity, it will be the day we find our freedom and greatness as a society.
