Bayelsa Utd apol­o­gise to Nige­ri­ans

Play­ers and of­fi­cials of Nigeria Pro­fes­sional Foot­ball League (NPFL) club, Bayelsa United have of­fered an of­fi­cial apol­ogy to Nige­ri­ans “for our dis­ap­point­ing out­ing” in the 2014 CAF Con­fed­er­a­tion Cup.

Chris­tian Kouamé’s 88th minute strike meant United lost their sec­ond leg play-off round game 0-1 to Ivo­rian club, Séwé Sport at the Sapele Town­ship Sta­dium on Satur­day.

Séwé Sport won the first leg clash 2-0 just over a week ago so the Nige­ri­ans bowed out on a 3-0 ag­gre­gate.

The club have now of­fered an of­fi­cial apol­ogy to Nige­ri­ans fol­low­ing their ouster from Africa’s sec­ond tier club com­pe­ti­tion.
