Baraka should be made minister - Ali Kano
A delegate at the ongoing national conference, Abdullahi Ali Kano, yesterday, faulted claims that former Kano State commissioner of agriculture, Dr. Baraka Sani, who recently resigned from Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s cabinet, is a spy planted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work for it in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said that she is a committed member of the PDP, calling for her appointment as a minister, instead of former governor Ibrahim Shekarau.
Ali Kano who made the clarification in a chat with newsmen, said the former commissioner has always been a strong pillar of PDP in the state.
“We all know that Baraka has been a PDP person, we are also aware that come what may she will one day return to where she rightfully belongs. Therefore, those that have been enunciating that she is a spy in PDP are only doing so because they failed to understand who she is.”
Ali Kano further stated that her defecting to PDP will reshape the party in the state and also assist the PDP in reclaiming the mantle of leadership.
He added: “However, since the party has given two ministerial position to Kano, and it has been specifically noted that one out of the two is reserved for a female candidate, Dr. Baraka should be considered for that post.”
