Spotlight FC places coaches, players on half salary
The management of Spotlight FC of Katsina has placed its technical crew and players on half salary following their dismal performance against Kwara United in Ilorin over the weekend.
The club coordinator, Alhaji Ayuba Umar who disclosed this yesterday said the 0-5 deficit suffered by his team in their week 12 encounter in Ilorin was scandalous hence the decision to place the technical crew and players on half pay pending when they improve in their performance.
According to him, all the players have been placed on half salary while the Head Coach Abdullahi Heyman, in addition to the half salary has been served with a warning letter.
Umar explained that the management of the club is not pleased with the performance of the players especially in the match against Kwara United.
He said the coaches and players are highly motivated to perform as their salaries and other benefits are paid promptly.
“No player or a coach in our team is owed a kobo. We even pay their salary April salary before left Katsina just to motivate them yet they are not ready to up their game,” Umar lamented.
The coordinator, however, urged the players and the technical crew to do everything possible to cancel the goal deficit against Kogi United in their tomorrow home game in Katsina or face more punishment as the management will not tolerate unproductively in the team.
