Crash saves kidnapped poly rector from gunmen
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Idah, Mathew AKpata, who was kidnapped at his residence by some gunmen regained freedom when the kidnappers’ car crashed into a tree while whisking him away.
Our reporter gathered that the kidnapers stormed his residence at Idah in Idah LGA of Kogi State at about 8pm Monday and after seizing him, tied his hands and legs and dumped him in the booth of their car and sped off.
The driver however lost control of the vehicle in the attempt to rush away and it rammed into a tree and the gunmen sustained serious injuries. Witnesses said in spite of their injuries they managed to escape but left the rector in the booth of the car. Villagers who rushed to the scene discovered the rector in the booth.
