Sokoto to train 349 indigenes abroad
The Sokoto State government has concluded plans to sponsor 349 indigenes of the state abroad for studies in science related courses.
The countries include Bangladesh, India and Ugandan and the student would enrol for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Daily Trust gathered.
Executive Chairman of the state Scholarship Board, Abdulkadir Jelani Kalgo, said already Governor Aliyu Wamakko has approved N656.7 million for the project.
Kalgo said the amount would take care of tuition, registration, accommodation, transportation and living cost of the students for the 2014/2015 academic session.
He said the institutions that the students would be sent to include; Rajiv Ghandi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore in India, International Islamic University in Bangladesh and the Islamic University, Uganda.
