FG urged to evolve a comprehensive transport policy
A Non Governmental Organisation, Kwapd’as Road Safety Demand (KRSD) has called on the federal government to come up with a comprehensive transport policy for the country in order to make the Nigeria road safe for road users.
The Founder of KRSD, Justice Monica Dougban Mensem said this yesterday at the organisation’s 4th annual international conference and presentation of award to winners of Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) essay competition.
She said there pockets of laws especially the issue of road signs but there is no comprehensive transport policy and there was need for one in collaboration between NGOs and road safety agencies.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi represented by Angus Obumneme Ibezim said the commission initiated child road safety programme in schools so as to build young persons as vanguard for road safety.
