Student, 27, in prison over rape
A 27-year-old student, Oyetunde Anjola Ishola of Monatan area, Ibadan, Oyo State, was yesterday remanded in prison by a Chief Magistrate’s Court in Ilorin, Kwara State, for allegedly raping a nine -year-old girl.
The accused, who is being prosecuted by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ajide Kehinde Peter told the court that on September 8, one Hakeem Mustapha reported to NSCDC Division that his nine-year-old daughter was raped by Oyetunde Anjola Ishola and others, who are now at large.
“Investigation revealed that the accused and one Ojoluyi Tominsi now at large conspired and had canal knowledge of the victim. They then used a white handkerchief to wipe blood gushing out from her private part and went away with it,” the prosecution said.
The accused was arraigned over criminal conspiracy and rape, offences that contravened sections 96 and 282 of Penal Code. Chief Magistrate Olokoyo ordered that he should be remanded at Federal Prison Yard, Oke-Kura Ilorin, and adjourned the case for further mention.
