Daily Trust - - CITY NEWS - By Sherifat Amako

The Abuja Muslim Forum has condoled with the entire Muslim Ummah over the loss of over 750 pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.

A statement from the forum signed by Barrister Muhammad Shehu, on behalf of the Amir, said they were however consoled by the fact that everyone who died is a martyr and is therefore in the bossom of the Lord.

“We believe that nothing happens without the destiny of Allah (SWT), and we therefore submit this in the hands of Allah. We lost prominent personalities like Professor Tijjani Al-Miskin, an erudite scholar; Hajiya Bilikisu, the first female newspaper editor from the North; the Emir of Zing; the chief Imam of the Sultan’s mosque in Sokoto; Honourable Justices Abdulkadir Jega JCA, and Musa Hassan Alkali JCA, and a host of others. May Allah have mercy on them,’’ the statement said.

The group also condoled with the families and relations of the dead, saying, “This is the time for prayers, sober reflections and plans on how to avert these incidences associated with crowd control in the holy land.”
