Phys­i­cally chal­lenged pupils get type­writ­ers in Osun

A non-gov­ern­men­tal or­gan-isa­tion in Osun State, AL-IH­SAN Is­lamic Wel­fare Foun­da­tion, has do­nated 10 type­writ­ers and 10 Mar­burg Braille writ­ing slates to 20 stu­dents of the School for Per­sons with Spe­cial Needs in Osogbo, Osun State, to aid learn­ing.

The items were pre­sented to the pupils dur­ing a brief cer­e­mony in the school re­cently. The Head­mas­ter, Mr. Amos Ola­sore, said the type­writ­ers and the Mar­burg slates would sim­plify teach­ing. De­liv­er­ing a spe­cial lec­ture on the oc­ca­sion, the Pres­i­dent of Mus­lim Stu­dents So­ci­ety of Nige­ria, Osun Area Coun­cil, Malam Ab­dul Basir Ola­sunkanmi, ad­mon­ished public spir­ited in­di­vid­u­als to al­ways iden­tify with the pupils and mo­ti­vate them to see hope in their fu­ture. A tra­di­tional ruler in the state, the Arag­biji of Irag­biji, Oba Ab­dul-Rash­hed Olabomi, who was rep­re­sented by the Ba­lo­gun of Irag­biji, Chief Mustapha Olatun­dun, urged other NGOs in the state to em­u­late AL-IH­SAN.

Also speak­ing on be­half of the state’s Uni­ver­sal Ba­sic Ed­u­ca­tion Board (SUBEB), Mr. Ab­dul-Fatai Ko­la­wole asked or­gan­i­sa­tions and in­di­vid­u­als to sup­port the ef­forts of gov­ern­ment on ed­u­ca­tion of phys­i­cally chal­lenged pupils.
