Faith of Hope Society (71NG) of the Methodist Cathedral of Unity Abuja has earmarked about N5 million yearly to sponsor orphans to schools.

Speaking with journalists during the 9th annual fund raising dinner in support of the Christ Education Fund for Orphans (CEFO) recently in Abuja, Chairman Board of Trustees of the society, Engineer Abimbola Odubiyi, said the fund had been in existence since 2001 and had sponsored 67 orphans to tertiary institutions.

He said some orphans were also trained in skills acquisition, adding that about nine beneficiaries have graduated from various tertiary institutions in the country.

On his part, president of the society, Jacob Oduyoye, said the aim of the scholarship scheme was to actualise the academic dreams of orphans, hence there was no prejudice in the selection of beneficiaries.
