Politicians in the country have been advised to work with President Muhammadu Buhari to take the country to an enviable height.

Okorocha spoke yesterday in his address to mark the 55th independence anniversary of the nation at a ceremony in Owerri.

He said: “Now that political campaigns are over, politicians irrespective of their parties should rally round President Buhari to succeed”.

He stressed the need to celebrate Nigeria despite the security challenges in the country and appealed to the youth to be proud of their country, adding that God had blessed Nigeria and would not abandon her.

Okorocha blamed the inability of the country to progress rapidly on some past leaders’ lack of vision, but assured that with Buhari, things must change. He paid tribute to the founding fathers of the country, and urged Nigerians to continue to pray for her growth.
