Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Kabiru R. Anwar, Yola

Boko Haram militants killed at least 11 people and burnt three villages in Madagali LGA of Adamawa State between Wednesday and early yesterday, Daily Trust gathered.

Residents reported attacks on Bitiku,

Kubu and Kirchinga villages. A resident said attackers on horses and a camel raided Bitiku late Wednesday, killing people, burning houses and forcing many residents to flee.

The House of Representatives member from Michika/ Madagali Federal Constituency, Musa Kamale, urged the federal government to do more to end incessant attacks on villages in the area.

“While others are in celebration mood, we spent the night mourning our people. We need more security personnel as our villages share borders with the Sambisa forest”, he said.

Former chairman

of Madagali LGA, Maina Ularamu, called for military posts in the surrounding villages. He faulted the deployment of soldiers to major towns of Gulak and Madagali while the militants are active in villages.

“The insurgents attacked a group of traders returning from Gulak market and killed four of them before proceeding to Kirchinga where they slaughtered seven persons including three women”, he said.
