Kaduna to adopt policy, zero based budget
The Kaduna State’s Commissioner of Finance, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, has said that the state’s budget for 2016 will be policy based.
Kwari, who was
fielding questions from newsmen, said it would not be business as usual as next year’s budget will be zero based.
He said the new government has also taken steps to reduce costs of governance, shore up its internal revenue and block all revenue leakages.
He said the administration has cut overhead costs by 60 per cent as part of measures to rescue the state from what he called its precarious financial situation.
He said Governor Nasiru El-Rufai is determined to create an efficient public service that will be able to deliver.
