Kaduna to adopt pol­icy, zero based bud­get

The Kaduna State’s Com­mis­sioner of Fi­nance, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, has said that the state’s bud­get for 2016 will be pol­icy based.

Kwari, who was

He said the new gov­ern­ment has also taken steps to re­duce costs of gov­er­nance, shore up its in­ter­nal rev­enue and block all rev­enue leak­ages.

He said the ad­min­is­tra­tion has cut over­head costs by 60 per cent as part of mea­sures to res­cue the state from what he called its pre­car­i­ous fi­nan­cial sit­u­a­tion.

He said Gover­nor Nasiru El-Ru­fai is de­ter­mined to cre­ate an ef­fi­cient public ser­vice that will be able to de­liver.
