The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers(NUPENG) has urged the Federal Government to commit more funds for the welfare of internally displaced persons (IDPS) scattered all over the country.

NUPENG President, Igwe Achese made the remarks when he visited one of the IDP camps located in Games Village, Abuja.

Achese said even though the efforts of the military in curtailing the menace of Boko Haram sect was commendable, more needed to be done to ameliorate the sufferings of the displaced persons.

While making a donation of N1million and some food items, he said the visit was to express their love and show concern to the IDPs.

Earlier, spokesperson for the IDP camp, Enock Yohana expressed appreciation for the kind gesture, saying government had failed them in terms of providing for their welfare.
