300 youths ben­e­fit from malaria aware­ness pro­gramme

Over 300 youths from 10 sec­ondary schools in the Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­tory (FCT) have ben­e­fited from a malaria aware­ness pro­gramme aimed at ed­u­cat­ing them on the dis­ease im­pend on their de­vel­op­ment.

The Coun­try Di­rec­tor, Africare, Dr. Orode Do­herty dis­closed this in Abuja at the Power For­ward (Malaria Aware­ness Pro­gramme) pro­gramme for FCT youths spon­sored by ExxonMo­bil malaria ini­tia­tive Nige­ria (NMA).

She said the or­gan­i­sa­tion since in­cep­tion has been com­mit­ted to or­ga­niz­ing pro­grammes tar­geted to­wards health, youths, HIV AIDS and malaria.

Ac­cord­ing to her, the pro­gramme was con­ceived ini­tially to fo­cus on young boys and girls us­ing bas­ket­ball as a con­ve­nient plat­form for bring­ing them to­gether to learn about health lit­er­acy.
