Police, DSS urged to investigate Fani-Kayode
The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase and Director General of the Department of Security Service, Alhaji Lawal Musa Daura, have been called upon to investigate and prosecute Chief Femi Fani-Kayode over ‘‘inciting statements capable of dragging the country into chaos’’.
Members of 11 Civil Society Organizations from Kano, Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe and Adamawa states made the call yesterday at a press conference in Kano.
Addressing newsmen on behalf of the 11 CSOs, the programmes manager, Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), Abdulganiyu Rufa’i Yakub, said ‘‘dangerous’’ statements by politicians are bad for the country and called on security agents to take action on the matter.
“Femi Fani-Kayode in a recent article described Fulani herdsmen as the pests of Nigeria, African tsetse flies, blood suckers, leeches, destroyers, killers, terrorists and all sorts.
