Jigawa lawmakers get N199.5m vehicles
The Jigawa Sstate government has revealed that the state executive council has ratified the purchase of 30 vehicles for members of the State House of Assembly at the cost of N199.5 million. Each vehicle is bought at N6.7 million. Jigawa State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim, disclosed this to newsmen after the state executive council meeting in Dutse.
Alhaji Ibrahim told journalists that the state government also approved about N733.5 million for the rehabilitation of all water schemes across the state.
He added that different water schemes, including that of Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) and Small Town Water Agency (STOWA) would be rehabilitated.
He said the present administration was committed to ensuring that all water schemes became functional in order to provide potable water for its citizens.
He said the council had resolved to continue projects initiated by immediate past government if funds were available.
