Okada riders lynch pas­sen­ger over N10 at Mpape

A mid­dle-aged man was lynched on Tues­day by a group of com­mer­cial mo­tor­cy­clists in Mpape, a satel­lite town of the Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­tory (FCT).

City News gath­ered that the de­ceased was lynched fol­low­ing a dis­agree­ment be­tween him and a com­mer­cial mo­tor­cy­clist over a N10.00 bal­ance.

The source said the cy­clist had car­ried him from his house to some­where with­out proper ne­go­ti­a­tion which later re­sulted in the sharp dis­agree­ment.

It said trou­ble en­sued when the man gave the cy­clist money and de­manded for his bal­ance, but the cy­clist re­fused, in­sist­ing that he was not ow­ing him any bal­ance.

“They first started with ex­change of words be­fore the fight which at­tracted other riders who sud­denly joined in beat­ing the man with­out find­ing out what went wrong,” it added.

City News, how­ever, learnt that the vic­tim sus­tained cuts all over his body af­ter be­ing at­tacked by the mo­tor­cy­clists who aban­doned him in an un­con­scious state.

The source fur­ther said he was later rushed to the Kubwa Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal for med­i­cal at­ten­tion but died on the way.

The Head, Ac­ci­dent and Emer­gency Unit, Paul Olise said the de­ceased was brought-in-dead to the hos­pi­tal, adding that the corpse had been de­posited at the mor­tu­ary.
