3. Pour the milk mix­ture over the bread and mix thor­oughly, set aside and leave to soak for 5 min­utes.

4. Trans­fer bread mix­ture into a bak­ing dish and bake in hot oven for 1 hr or un­til well risen and golden brown.

5. Turn out of the tin and cut into wedges or serve from the dish. Serve with egg cus­tard sauce.
