Daily Trust - - OPINION -

for mere formalities not necessarily in the best interest of the country.

My advice is this; Mr President should take note when choosing his delegates, those who are ready for work and not for poses and selfies. but he has now rounded his counsels in a corner to proof that he got his money from rice farming.

Success for PPP

For every leader, understanding and managing the following will lead to successful PPP. They include ensuring sound economic fundamentals of the project; structuring the partnership to optimize cost, quality and investor return i.e. achieving both the public and business objectives; Securing political champions e.g. Governors, ministers etc. should be drivers of the project, and building stakeholder support; Try to accommodate all interests and understand and manage the fears of stakeholders, assess and manage social and environmental impacts, and foster a stable and supportive regulatory environment.

In execution, use a disciplined project management approach to the execution, engage quality teams of professionals (both local and foreign expert), support a transparent, competitive bid process, plan for ongoing contract monitoring and review, and avoid corruption and inflating contract sum for selfish reasons.
