District head petitions military over sack, replacement in Bauchi
The recently sacked district head of Bursali in Zaki LGA of Bauchi State, Alhaji Sale Abdu, has petitioned the General Officer Commanding Officer (GOC) 7 Division, Maiduguri, over the clearance of the reinstated district head of Bursali, Alhaji Hassan Jabir, by the army.
A petition reportedly sent to the GOC and copied to the Commander, Operation Zaman Lafiya Dole, accused Lt. Col. D. C Bako of clearing the reinstated district head without due process to ascertain the veracity of the allegations against him. He urged the GOC to investigate the petition in order to curb insecurity in their area.
It would be recalled that Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar reinstated Alhaji Hassan Jabir as district head of Bursali and removed Abdullahi in a letter from the State Local Government Service Commission with Ref number LGSC/LGA/S/ KEC/005/V.1/147
The reinstated district head was earlier removed by former state governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, over an allegation of harbouring armed bandits, suspected Boko Haram members and cattle rustlers. He was however cleared of the allegations by the 233 battalion of the Nigerian Army on November 23, 2014 in a letter with reference No 233BN/61/300/88 signed by commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel DC Bako, addressed to the Chairman of Zaki LGA.
