S/east traditional rulers sack chairman
The South-east council of traditional rulers in the country has sacked its chairman, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya.
The traditional rulers replaced Ilomuanya with the current chairman of Imo State council of traditional rulers, Eze Samuel Ohiri.
In a statement issued in Owerri yesterday, Chief Press Secretary to the Imo State chairman, council of traditional rulers, Gift Nwokoro, said traditional rulers in the zone reaffirmed the removal of Ilomuanya as their chairman at a meeting.
He said the meeting, which held at the weekend was attended by chairmen of council of traditional rulers from Imo, Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, and Enugu states.
The traditional rulers said Ilomuanya’s removal followed the expiration of his tenure in office.
The leadership resolved that after Imo State, the position would move to Abia State.
They observed that Imo occupied the position for many years.
The traditional rulers pledged work together to move council forward.
