S/east tra­di­tional rulers sack chair­man

The South-east coun­cil of tra­di­tional rulers in the coun­try has sacked its chair­man, Eze Cle­tus Ilo­muanya.

The tra­di­tional rulers re­placed Ilo­muanya with the cur­rent chair­man of Imo State coun­cil of tra­di­tional rulers, Eze Sa­muel Ohiri.

In a state­ment is­sued in Ow­erri yesterday, Chief Press Sec­re­tary to the Imo State chair­man, coun­cil of tra­di­tional rulers, Gift Nwokoro, said tra­di­tional rulers in the zone reaf­firmed the re­moval of Ilo­muanya as their chair­man at a meet­ing.

He said the meet­ing, which held at the week­end was at­tended by chair­men of coun­cil of tra­di­tional rulers from Imo, Abia, Anam­bra, Ebonyi, and Enugu states.

The tra­di­tional rulers said Ilo­muanya’s re­moval fol­lowed the ex­pi­ra­tion of his ten­ure in of­fice.

The lead­er­ship re­solved that af­ter Imo State, the po­si­tion would move to Abia State.

They ob­served that Imo oc­cu­pied the po­si­tion for many years.

The tra­di­tional rulers pledged work to­gether to move coun­cil for­ward.
