Emerhor: Buhari is dismantling retrogressive structures

Daily Trust - - INSIDE POLITICS - By Terkula Igidi

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State 2015 election, Mr Olorogun Otega Emerhor, has expressed confidence in the ability of President Muhammadu Buhari and his party to take Nigeria from her present socioeconomic stagnation to a vibrant and prosperous nation.

Mr Emerhor, in a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 55th independence anniversary, said since assumption of office on May 29 this year, President Buhari had been dismantling retrogressive socioeconomic structures put in place by past administrations so as to open a new page for transparency, accountability and good governance across board.

The APC chieftain attributed the underdevelopment of the Nigerian nation to lack of visionary and proactive leadership of the past, which opened several corrupt channels through which the God-given commonwealth of the Nigerian people was mismanaged.

He believed that with President Buhari in the saddle, Nigeria’s human, financial and material resources would be properly managed and prudently channeled towards productive ventures that would facilitate economic growth and overall development of our nation.

Mr Emerhor, who is still at the Governorship Elections Tribunal sitting at Asaba to challenge the victory of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), assured Deltans that sooner than later the state would have the opportunity to have an APC government.
