Imo ready to host FEPSGA Games
Imo state government has said it is ready to host the over 15000 public servants who would be taking part in this year’s Federation of Public Servants Games (FEPSGA) next month.
Imo State Head of Service, Mr. Calistus Ekenze disclosed this to the members of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo state chapter during a courtesy visit to his office.
He said all necessary arrangements have been put in place for the games which would feature 14 events.
Ekenze also said that the Imo State government has intensified its security network to ensure safety of the athletes during the games.
He said “We will guarantee maximum security of the athletes and equally use the opportunity to show the hospitality level of Imo State.”
The Head of Service who noted that Imo state is going to be the first state in the South East geo-political zone to host FPSG added that Imo State is hosting the game to win.
While speaking against the use of mercenaries by the participating states, Ekenze added that the competition is strictly for public servants who are not professional athletes.
He promised to involve Imo SWAN actively in the activities of the game and urged them to ensure active coverage.
The Chairman of SWAN Imo State chapter, Mr. John Nwogu on behalf of other sports writers in the state promised adequate coverage for the games.
