Musa, Onazi, 13 other Eagles train in Belgium
Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi and 13 other the Super Eagles stars yesterday commenced training for two friendlies in Belgium at the R. Battice FC training ground.
Others who trained were England-based midfielder John Mikel Obi, goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, defenders Elderson Echiejile, Efe Ambrose, William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun, midfielders Sylvester Igbonu, Rabiu Ibrahim and Obiora Nwankwo.
Others were forwards Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Moses Simon, Emmanuel Emenike and Alex Iwobi at training yesterday evening.
Eagles top official Enebi Achor disclosed the team will train twice today (10am and 4pm) at the same venue.
Nigeria face DR Congo on Thursday, before they tackle Cameroon three days later as part of preparation for next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against either Swaziland or Djibouti.
Meanwhile, defender Godfrey Oboabona is grappling with visa issues in Turkey ahead of the friendlies against as his international passport is yet to be released by the Belgian Embassy in that country.
Also, Super Eagles’ officials on ground may need to secure the services of a temporary physiotherapist for massage and medical matters if by today, the team’s medical crew (part of the delegation that is held up in Abuja) is not issued visas to join the group in Belgium.
