Musa, Onazi, 13 other Ea­gles train in Bel­gium

Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi and 13 other the Su­per Ea­gles stars yesterday com­menced train­ing for two friendlies in Bel­gium at the R. Bat­tice FC train­ing ground.

Oth­ers who trained were Eng­land-based midfielder John Mikel Obi, goal­keeper Carl Ikeme, de­fend­ers Elder­son Echiejile, Efe Am­brose, Wil­liam Troost-Ekong and Leon Ba­lo­gun, mid­field­ers Sylvester Ig­bonu, Rabiu Ibrahim and Obiora Nwankwo.

Oth­ers were for­wards Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, Moses Si­mon, Em­manuel Emenike and Alex Iwobi at train­ing yesterday evening.

Ea­gles top of­fi­cial Enebi Achor dis­closed the team will train twice to­day (10am and 4pm) at the same venue.

Nige­ria face DR Congo on Thurs­day, be­fore they tackle Cameroon three days later as part of prepa­ra­tion for next month’s 2018 World Cup qual­i­fier against ei­ther Swaziland or Dji­bouti.

Mean­while, de­fender God­frey Oboabona is grap­pling with visa is­sues in Tur­key ahead of the friendlies against as his in­ter­na­tional pass­port is yet to be re­leased by the Bel­gian Em­bassy in that coun­try.

Also, Su­per Ea­gles’ of­fi­cials on ground may need to se­cure the ser­vices of a tem­po­rary phys­io­ther­a­pist for mas­sage and med­i­cal mat­ters if by to­day, the team’s med­i­cal crew (part of the del­e­ga­tion that is held up in Abuja) is not is­sued visas to join the group in Bel­gium.
