Man dies in petrol tanker fire
An unidentified man was yesterday burnt to death while three vehicles were destroyed when a tanker loaded with petrol went up in flames after falling behind the NAFDAC office in Oshodi, Lagos.
A witness, Baba Asunmo, told Daily Trust:
“A smaller truck tried to pass by the fallen trailer and a spark from the vehicle’s silencer caused the fire”.
He said it took some time before men of the Lagos State Fire Service arrived at the scene to put out the fire.
Confirming the incident, General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA), Michael Akindele, said the man who died was trying to scoop fuel from the fallen tanker just before the fire broke out.
