We’ve restrategised for Boko Haram – CDS

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Victor Edozie, Port Harcourt

Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin, yesterday said the Nigerian military had re-strategized to dislodge Boko Haram.

Speaking during an assessment tour of military facilities and combat readiness in Port Harcourt, Olonisakin condoled with families of victims of yesterday’s bomb blast in Damaturu, Yobe State, adding that the armed forces had mapped out strategies to check Boko Haram operations.

“We sympathise with families who lost their loved ones in that incident, and the military will check such occurrences” he said.

General Olonisakin, who was accompanied by the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar and other security chiefs, said the military had been working hard to ensure that the December deadline set by President Muhammadu Buhari to eradicate terrorism was achieved.

The entourage assessed war planes at the 97 Special Operations Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Port Harcourt and a joint parade by officers and men of the Nigerian Army, Air Force and Navy at the Air Force Base.
