Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Mohammed Shosanya, Lagos

The South-West Zonal Director, Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Ifeoma Igweze-Anyanwutako, yesterday expressed concern over rising job insecurity and unfair labour practices by employers.

Speaking in Lagos at a symposium organised by the Association of Senior Staff of Banks Insurance and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) to mark this year’s Decent Work Day, she regretted that 55 years after independence, many workers were still without social protection.

ASSBIFI president, Comrade Sunday Salako, emphasised the need to have a Minister of Labour who is a worker in order to feel the pains of the nation’s workforce.
