Cri­sis cen­tre seeks part­ner­ship with media

The Ex­ec­u­tive Sec­re­tary, Cen­tre for Cri­sis Com­mu­ni­ca­tion (CCC), re­tired Air Com­modore Yusuf Anas has ob­served that part­ner­ship with the media is vi­tal in cri­sis com­mu­ni­ca­tion and man­age­ment.

He made the ob­ser­va­tion yesterday in Abuja dur­ing a meet­ing with the ed­i­to­rial team of Daily Trust news­pa­per ti­tles.

He said col­lab­o­ra­tion and part­ner­ship with the or­gan­i­sa­tion would en­able the Cen­tre achieve its man­date of co­or­di­na­tion and har­mon­i­sa­tion of in­for­ma­tion sit­u­a­tions.

Anas said the Cen­tre is an in­de­pen­dent body that pro­vides needed sup­ports and in­ter­ven­tion in cri­sis in­for­ma­tion man­age­ment for crit­i­cal stake­hold­ers.

Ac­cord­ing to him, the cen­tre is be­ing de­vel­oped as a sys­tem­atic ap­proach

in

cri­sis to in­ci­dent in­for­ma­tion man­age­ment and re­sponse or­gan.

He added that the cen­tre also seeks to cre­ate a one-stop ob­jec­tive in­for­ma­tion hub through timely col­la­tion and pro­fes­sion­al­ism in the dis­sem­i­na­tion to the public.
