Police arrest 20 suspected criminals, recover 72 motorcycles
In continuation of its efforts to rid the state of crime, the Lagos State police command, at the weekend, conducted a massive raid on identified criminal hideouts within the FESTAC axis.
The raid, said to be an intelligence-driven one, was designed to proactively deal with emerging security threats within the metropolis. It was also targeted
at amongst okada riders and other hoodlums in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State command, Joe Offor, told Daily Trust that the raid had so far led to the arrests of 20 male suspects and the seizure of 72 motorcycles.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State command, CP Fatai Owoseni, who also used the opportunity to warn members of the public against harbouring criminals, stressed that the exercise would continue until their set objectives were achieved.
He disclosed that those arrested would soon be charged to court while the bikes would be handed over to the state government.
