Bauchi APC wades into group, sen­a­tors’ face off

Lead­er­ship of the All Pro­gres­sives Congress (APC) Bauchi State has waded into the face-off be­tween mem­bers of a group within the party and two of its sen­a­tors who have been at log­ger­heads over some is­sues.

Chair­man of the party, Al­haji Uba Nana, dis­closed this week­end at a meet­ing with lead­ers of the Buhari Coali­tion on Peace and Sup­port for Jus­tice in Bauchi.

He ap­pealed to the ag­grieved mem­bers of the group and other APC faith­ful to al­low the party lead­er­ship take the nec­es­sary steps to ad­dress the prob­lem.

“There is a move by some groups to em­bark on peace­ful demon­stra­tion to ex­press their griev­ances due to the be­hav­iour by two of our sen­a­tors which is not in con­form­ity with the ex­pec­ta­tion of the elec­torates. The party had in­ter­vened and ap­pealed to them to sus­pend their plan,” he said.

Mem­bers of the group have been at log­ger­heads with the sen­a­tors rep­re­sent­ing Bauchi South and Bauchi Cen­tral, Sen­a­tor Ali Wak­ili and Sen­a­tor Isah Hamma Misau over an al­leged flout­ing of the party’s di­rec­tives over the elec­tion of Se­nate lead­er­ship and prin­ci­pal of­fi­cers.
