Bauchi APC wades into group, senators’ face off
Leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bauchi State has waded into the face-off between members of a group within the party and two of its senators who have been at loggerheads over some issues.
Chairman of the party, Alhaji Uba Nana, disclosed this weekend at a meeting with leaders of the Buhari Coalition on Peace and Support for Justice in Bauchi.
He appealed to the aggrieved members of the group and other APC faithful to allow the party leadership take the necessary steps to address the problem.
“There is a move by some groups to embark on peaceful demonstration to express their grievances due to the behaviour by two of our senators which is not in conformity with the expectation of the electorates. The party had intervened and appealed to them to suspend their plan,” he said.
Members of the group have been at loggerheads with the senators representing Bauchi South and Bauchi Central, Senator Ali Wakili and Senator Isah Hamma Misau over an alleged flouting of the party’s directives over the election of Senate leadership and principal officers.
