Eny­imba main­tain top spot

Eny­imba FC yesterday main­tained their grip on the Nige­ria Premier League top spot with a 2-1 win over vis­it­ing Shoot­ing Stars of Ibadan in Aba. The win took the two-time CAF Cham­pi­ons League win­ners’ points tally to 61 from 33 games, while Warri Wolves who held host Rangers to a 1-1 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Sta­dium oc­cupy the sec­ond po­si­tion with 56 points from 33 games.

Wikki Tourists who lost 0-2 to host Sharks in Port-Har­court oc­cupy the third spot with 54 points, while Giwa FC who are fourth on the log with 54 points af­ter beat­ing vis­it­ing Dol­phins 1-0 in Jos.

Also yesterday, Lobi Stars de­feated vis­it­ing Kwara United 2-1 at the Aper Aku Sta­dium in Makurdi, FC Taraba were 1-0 bet­ter than vis­it­ing Heart­land of Ow­erri, while Nasara United recorded the only away win of the week, beat­ing hosts Bayelsa United 2-1.

In other matches, Akwa United de­feated Abia War­riors 1-0 in Uyo, wh­hile Kano Pil­lars also de­feated vis­it­ing Sun­shine Stars 2-1 in Kano.
