The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde has slammed a N1 Billion law suit against The Sun Newspapers.

The suit was filed at the Federal capital Territory (FCT) High Court. No date has been given for hearing.

The alleged offensive report was published in Daily Sun Newspaper of Thursday, 8th October, 2015.

According to Lamorde, the report was false, malicious and seriously injured in his character, credit, reputation and integrity.

He is asking the Court to order the defendant to publish a retraction and an unreserved apology.

He is also seeking for a perpetual injunction restraining the Defendant whether by itself, its agents, privies or servants from further publishing or causing to be published any libelous, injurious or defamatory words against him.
